Hello

I'm Juan Torres

About Me

I have been working with individuals, groups and families since 2014, implementing different programs of Music Therapy (MT), Clinical Hypnotherapy (CH), Psychotherapy (PSY) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to provide early intervention to different conditions such as learning difficulties, communication issues, autism, speech, depression, insomnia, addictions, dementia and phobias, among others.   With many years of experience, I have focussed my practice on a centric approach based on the needs of every specific client.  My mental health services are 100% based on scientific evidence.
I will be delighted to listen to your specific needs and design a plan to help you reach your goals.
In 2014 I created the JCT Institute to work in these four disciplines described above.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming studies the ways our thoughts affect our behaviour. It looks at the ways our brains interpret the signals they receive and how these interpretations affect what we do. It does this through language – the linguistic part of neuro-linguistic programming techniques. By examining how our brains process information, NLP techniques help us to look at our thoughts, feelings and emotions as things that we can control, rather than things that passively happen to us.

Psychotherapyalso called talk therapy or usually just "therapy," is a form of treatment aimed at relieving emotional distress and mental health problems. Provided by any of a variety of trained professionals, it involves examining and gaining insight into life choices and difficulties faced by individuals, couples, or families. Therapy sessions refer to structured meetings between a licensed provider and a client with a goal of improving some aspect of their life. Psychotherapy encompasses many types of treatment and is practised by a range of clinicians using a variety of strategies. The critical aspect is that the client or patient works collaboratively with the therapist and can identify improvement and positive change over time.

Most therapies in wide use have been well-tested and deemed effective. Though it may at first feel difficult to seek out therapy—especially for those of low-income or without comprehensive insurance—the benefits of successful therapy are literally life-changing.

Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based therapy with over 70,000 research references worldwide.
Hypnotherapy is not some form of magic pill or quick fix, either. It requires that the client be committed to change and prepared to make an effort to make that change a reality.
Hypnosis is a different state of consciousness that you can naturally enter so that, for therapeutic purposes, beneficial corrections may be given directly to your unconscious mind. In this way, hypnosis is an effective way of making contact with our inner (unconscious) self, which is both a reservoir of unrecognised potential and knowledge as well as being the unwitting source of many of our problems.

Music therapy is a research-based practice and profession in which music actively supports people as they strive to improve their health, functioning and well-being. Music therapists incorporate various music-making methods within and through a therapeutic relationship to address individual client goals.
When working with all populations, music therapists use music-based interventions (in individual or group sessions) to address a range of cognitive, physical and socio-emotional goals determined through an assessment by the music therapist. These interventions may include singing, songwriting, improvisation, receptive Music listening and other speciality techniques. Areas of care that most readily benefit from music therapy include:
Palliative care, oncology, disability, autism spectrum disorder, special education, early childhood intervention, aged care, rehabilitation, mental health, neonatal care and pediatrics.
